Liminka

Liminka is known for its birdlife. You'll see memorable spring and autumn migrations in Finland's best wetlands. There's plenty for children to do at the lively nature centre and the Escurial zoo.

However, Liminka is a lot more than just birds. The history of the Oulu region's founding parish reaches back over 500 years: the parish was at its largest in the early 1600s - back then, Oulu and even Kajaani were part of Liminka! Old Liminka exudes history. The Liminka Bay Nature Centre, the Vihiluodon Kala restaurant, and the old grounds of the Pitojen Helmi complex all offer a memorable venue for conferences.

Welcome to Liminka!
